Two Steps at a time
Two former members of the group Steps are about to launch themselves as a duo.
Ian Watkins who is better known as H and Claire have told the media that their music is to take a new direction different to when they were part of Steps. The duo has not taken a name as yet but what they intend to produce will be a more mature musical direction.
Several top song writers have been approaching both H and Claire. Among them are Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus of Abba fame, Dane Bowers, Daniel Bedingfield and Sir Tim Rice.

Even designers have been stepping in with ideas for the making of the duo's clothes.
The Steps broke up on Boxing Day last year at the very height of the group popularity. The news shocked and angered many of their fans at the time.

The UK singles chart crowned a new champion this week. The star is Holly Valance and her chart topping song is called 'Kiss Kiss'.

The song was first recorded in the Turkish language by Tartan. It was a minor hit in certain parts of Europe in the 1990s. It has now been re-written in English retaining (as we understand) the original music flavour.

The original music was by a television presenter called Graham Norton as the trailer to his TV series. Of course this was long before the CD buying public had ever heard the song.

Holly Valance was lucky when London Records released her rendition of 'Kiss Kiss', that it was quickly lapped off the shelves. The video to the song may have prompted some of the very young males to take a liking to the song since Valance appears virtually naked. She denied any nude scenes saying what was portrayed was the tricks of the camera.

UK singles chart champ Holly Valance hails from Australia. She is another TV soap star from " Neighbours" to make it to the pop charts. Around six " Neighbours" stars have launched music careers. But only Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Craig McLachlan, Stefan Dennis and Natalie Imbruglia scored top 20 hits.Holly Valance is the third "Neighbours" star to notch a No:1 in the UK following Kylie Minogue and Jason Danovan.

Tweet is a female rapper who debuts on the UK Top 20 singles chart this week at No:5 with the song 'Oops (Oh My)'. She is a protege of Missy Elliot. Tweet's song is controversial but it is not the first time such a song has entered the charts.

At No:6 is the club track 'At Night' by Shakedown. The disco, house groove was created by Mandex and Seb K. Vocals to the track are by Terra Deva from New York. She was at one time on the Micky Mouse Show. Could she end up like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake?

A biographical track en-tered the charts at No:9 for Mary J. Blige. It is the title track of Mary's album called 'How You Remind Me'. A good soul track that takes a look at the problems Blige had with drugs, alcohol and relationships, it follows another very good track from Mary called 'Dance For Me' which peaked at No:13 in February.

A large crowd attended the funeral of the late TLC member Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes. The service was held at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia on May 2, 2002.

Among those present were band mates Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins and Rozonda' Chilli Thomas, Janet Jackson, Jermaine Dupri, Usher, Babyface, Timbaland, Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, Da Brat, Monica and LA Reid who is also the head of Arista Records.

The group Mary Mary performed the song 'Crazy' while tributes were delivered by Lisa's mother, brother, aunt and LA Reid.
