Women's hockey team excel in S'gapore

The Royal Colombo Golf the second oldest Golf club outside England
has made a name in the international circuit (especially in the
Asian region) said Lalith Ramnayake, the Club Captain RCGC.
Ramanayake
who has indulged in many ball games - today is a frontline golfer
in the country. He was speaking about the support rendered by the
Private Sector in sponsoring many tournaments that really give the
local golders an opportunity of regularly indulging in competitive
golf.
Celltel, will
be sponsoring the February Monthly medal 175 golfers - the cream
of Sri Lanka's golfers will take to the greens this is RCGC's penultimate
tournament for 2002-03 Grand Prix and CELLTEL will provide prizes
aplenty including some handsome trophies to the winners and runners-ups
in the repective categories. It will tee off on Feb. 8.
Duminda Ratnayake,
CEO Celltel said they were happy to join forces with the RCGC which
has gone back for many years. His firm last year sponsored the March
Monthly Medal. The tournament will be in four divisions. The 'A'
div. whose handicap range for 0-9, while 'B' 10-18, 'C' 19-28, while
'D' accomodates golfers over 65 years. (senors).
Scores made at this tournament will be added wil be added to the
RCGC Grand Prix table. (B.W.). |
