"Golden
Dragon" the Chinese specialty restaurant at Taj Samudra reawakened
on June 13, with a grand Dragon festival. This festival will go
on till June 25.Sun
Guoxiang, Chinese Ambassador, officially inaugurated the festival.
'The new 'Golden
Dragon' is all geared up for a new reign. There is a new chef flown
in from mainland China namely Chef Peter Zhu Lin Quin. He has a
wide range of experience working in many International Hotel chains
since 1990. He specializes in Cantonese, Schizuan and Hunan food
with Dim sums also being his specialty.
He is an expert
with seafood and his dishes are very creative and innovative. Based
on his expertise and creativity, a new menu has been designed which
is exclusive in its true sense. This will undoubtedly make Taj Samudra's
Golden Dragon's, the first choice for premier authentic Chinese
Food. The entrance to the Golden Dragon will be through a cave in
the shape of a Dragon's mouth. A large Dragon Kite has been placed
on the roof of the Hotel to give the feel of the Dragon.
The Golden
Dragon from now on will be a totally new experience for the guests
coming into the restaurant. The Taj Samudra will keep this magic
alive even after the Dragon Festival as the Dragon has truly re-awakened
in all its glory and cannot be stopped now.
Keep cool at the 'Glow'
'Glow', the newest lounge bar and Open Air Cafe has opened
its doors at the Automobile Association building at the Galle Face
last week.
The Open Air
Cafe at the rooftop is mainly dishout 'fusion food' for the relaxed
guests.
Western food
with Eastern touch will be the main attraction at 'Glow'. Every
Thursday is the theme night with specialized food. 'Vodka Night",
'Mexican Night', 'Jazz Night' and 'Wine Club Night' are popular
theme nights.
"Chef
is too with a star class experience and we are giving five star
cuisine for much lower price", said a spokesman from the 'Glow'.
The lounge
bar is packed with local and imported wines, spirits and beers.
According to
the manager the 'Glow' has specialized wines imported from ten countries,
such as France, Australia, Italy, Greece, Chilie, South Africa,
Spain, USA, Portugal and Swiss.
The specialty
of the bar is soft recorded music.
'It is not
heavy. Soft music for easy listening is our attraction. There is
something for everybody including young and old. But our main target
market is young adults', he said.
'Trinco
Mania' hits high at Giritale

The leisure travellers to Trinco and Bati has chosen
Giritale as the transit point to the east coast and the main attraction
is the the Royal Lotus Hotel.
'Trinco Mania',
is the latest promotional campaign organised by the Jinasena Management
Services, the owners of the Deer Park Hotel and The Royal Lotus
Hotel in Giritale.
This two-night
trip, which starts from Jinasena head office in Colombo every Friday,
includes guided tours to Hot Wells, Koneswaram Temple and Lovers'
Leap in Trincomalee and special optional excursion for Polonnaruwa
ruins.
The promo comprises
a tour package to Trinco including transport in and A/C coach from
Colombo to Giritale and to Trinco/Nilaweli and back to Royal Lotus
and Colombo on the third day, full-board accomodation at Royal Lotus
Hotel in Giritale and lunch and tea at Nilaweli Hotel.
The special
attraction at the hotel is the disco, which comes alive on Saturday
night at The Royal Lotus Hotel. Jinasena Management Services , organisers
of 'Trinco Mania' is offering a special rate for the groups over
ten. The Giritale Hotel is located near the banks of the scenic
Giritale reservoir and is in close proximity to the historical sites
in the Cultural Triangle.
'Trinco Mania'
has caught up fast with the Sri Lankan travellers and majority have
shown interest in excursions to Minneriya, Wasgomuwa and Kaudulla
national sanctuaries.
Bird watching,
nature walks, bicycle trails and village safaries too are popular
