Dazzling fashions

Glitter, sequins and beads, exotic drapes and slinky, seductive styles... Colombo audiences had their fill of haute couture last weekend. The first ever Colombo Fashion Weekend was a dazzling affair, comparing favourably with the Paris Fashion Week.

Fabulous designs were modelled at the Galle Face Hotel ballroom with three leading Lankan designers Seneka de Silva, Michael Wijesuriya and Andre Estefan sharing the spotlight with well-known Indian names Satya Paul, Suneet Varma and Manoviraj Kosla.

The jewellery to complement the haute couture fashions on the catwalk was provided by Mallika Hemachandra Jewellers. The event, which was covered by Fashion TV, was sponsored by George O’Marie and organized by OSB. Media sponsors were The Sunday Times, Daily Mirror and Hi magazine and MTV and Yes FM.
