Yohan's
3rd ton helps Nalanda to beat Sri Sumangala
Nalanda trounced Sri Sumangala, Panadura by an innings and 200 runs
in their U-19 Lemonade Trophy encounter played at Campbell Place
on Monday and Tuesday (17th and 18th November).
Nalanda put
into bat, amassed 385 runs for the loss of 7 dec. in 68 overs, and
young Yohan de Silva, the left hander opener continued his good
form to hammer his third century in four matches. (He was out for
93 runs in the other match). De Silva had 12 fours and 05 sixes
in his 113 made in 145 balls. He was well supported by Sameera Abeysinghe
57, and a quick fire 44 not out by Ghihan Rupesinghe and a sedate
40 by skipper Madura Warnapura, who later bowled admirably to capture
6 for 11 runs to restrict the visitors for 51 runs made in 16.4
overs.
Made to follow-on
the Panadura School did better totalling 134 made in 81 overs. Prabath
Kariapperuma took 3 for 14.
