‘Water Garden’ of Belihuloya

Water Garden is always associates with Sigiriya Fortress in Sri Lanka . Though it is heard more often these days, there is another ‘Water Garden’ in Belihuloya.
This Water Garden is located at the heart of Belihuloya, which stand in the middle of the Hill and Low country.

In recent years Belihuloya has become more signicicant with travel and tourism. Nature trails, trekking and hill climbing are more attractive events in the area. Camping by the side of beautiful Belihul Oya and Nonperial climb to the Horton Plains and World’s End ( of course it has three roots to the top from Belihuloya- approx twelve kms on foot) and trekking and bird watching in Samanala wewa area are some of the major attractions in the area.

Water Garden stands by the side of Badulla high way, nearly 160km away from busy and dusty Colombo. Greeny paddy fields followed by a hill behind the hotel make a breathtaking view from the room. Its location, provides a superb environment for the guests looking to “get away” and relax. Water Garden in Belihuloya provides a romantic, relaxing atmosphere full of charming scenery.
In the homely atmosphere of Water Garden with six spacious clean air-conditioned rooms with piped music, telephones, hot and cold water in star class bathrooms.

Nishan Ragindranatha Ganewatta, the proprietor of the Hotel said, the main reason he started Water Garden is to give more comforts and more luxury than any other place in the area. “Belihuloya is getting more and more attracted towards overseas and Sri Lankan travellers. They look for star class rooms to stay and quality service. So , to fill the void I started ‘Water Garden’. I think I was able to meet the demand at least half way. But I can guarantee ‘Water Garden’ is the best place in the area and will improve the place to match the requirements of the target market.” Nishan said.

The restaurant at Water Garden can accommodate more than 75 pax and it has 24 hours room service. “Laundry facilities , well stocked bar, parking facilities, conference facilities for more than 100 participants in theatre style are the other services available at the hotel” said Samith Sanjeewa, the Manager of the place.

‘The excursions to Babarakanda Falls (Approximately 18 Km), Nature Trails (Word’s End Tour), Outbound Tours, Cycling, Bird watching, Mountain Biking can be arranged on prior request.” he said. Water Garden is also a popular place for a sumptuous meal and for a short relaxation for pleasure seekers.
