Lankan
cookery at WTM
A gala
dinner was hosted by Sri Lanka Tourism and SriLankan Airlines for
travel agents and tour operators in the UK, who attended the recently
concluded WTM fair.
At the dinner,
a concise cookery book on Sri Lanka favourites was launched and
gifted to all participants. Hilton Colombo's Executive Chef was
the driving force behind this project together with the main sponsor
Glen Seneviratne, sole proprietor and CEO of Rich Products, R.S.R.
Distributors and manufacturers of spices and condiments.

The World
Travel Awards at the recently concluded WTM, Sri Lanka's Saman Villas
and Ayurveda Pavilion in Negombo were rated amongst the world's
best resorts and spas.
These two properties
were rated as the best in Sri Lanka in the countrywide rankings

'Sale
& Variety Fair'
A 2-day "Bargain Sale and Variety Fair" will be
held at the Jubilee Hall, Union Place on December 9 and 10.
This is organised
by a group of Professionals who have established a Charitable Trust
to engage in a variety of social action and welfare activities.
"We are
currently involved in a wide range of projects, where we serve the
sick at the Cancer and Army Hospitals, the Disabled and the physically
handicapped security services personnel at the Ranaviru Sevana,
the economically handicapped in border villages in the North and
East, prisoners and Inmates of rehabilitation homes for juvenile
delinquents and sexually abused children' said Sandy Pereira,one
of the members.
"This year,
with the proceeds of the Sale & Fair, which has been planned,
we have decided to assist a very poor family (Leelaratne Manike
and her 02 little children) of a deceased soldier (Piyasena S/625092)
- who are presently in a destitute condition' she said.
