School of cricket on tour again
CCC School of cricket has done much to promote the game at grassroots
level. They have been invited to take part in the quadrangular tournament
organized by the Imtiaz Ahamed Academy to be held on Dec. 13 to
23 in Bangalore.
This year end
tournament is much look forward to and is keenly contested with
some young prospects for the future from B'lore taking part. The
teams taking part are - Frank Anthony Int. School, Jain Int. Residential
School, CC School of Cricket and Imtraz Ahamed CA. Its being organised
by the Imtiaz Ahamed Cricket Academy.
The Maitland Crescent School, will be embarking on their fourth
tour to Banglaore, India. The Lankan school has fared reasonably
well in the past on and off the field thereby bringing about understanding
and fellowship with their Indian counterparts.
According Nelson
Mendis, will accompany the teams as coach-cum-manager. It will be
cricket-cum educational tour for the lads. They have much to learn
besides cricket - the cultural aspects among their Indian counterparts.
Incidentally Mendis, a former Nalanda English master, has now taken
over the Nalanda cricket coaching.
Besides participating
in the tournament they will play against the YMCA Cricket Academy
and BGS Int. International School. The tour party will also make
a trek to Mysore on a study tour. The Under-16 team will be led
by Royalist Ruwan Silva, while the Under-14 Nilshan Peiris the other
officials who will accompany - Milroy Gonsal and Pubudu Priyadharshana.
The
final scheduled for Dec. 21.
