Sri Lanka and India have reached accord on greater defence co-operation
to ensure security in the Indian Ocean region, Chief of Defence

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will represent President
Chandrika Kumaratunga in Parliament during next week's committee
stage debates on the ministries of Defence, Interior and Mass

dissolution of parliament but indicated early provincial elections
ahead of any general election.

The Ministerial Security Division has warned TULF Leader V.
Anandasangaree of a possible LTTE threat to his life through
an employee at the TULF office working directly under the
rebel group's intelligence chief Pottu Amman.

wished by Vavuniya LTTE political wing leader Elilan
