New
twist in Thilanga case
A complaint made by a group of lawyers against the additional magistrate
who discharged Sri Lanka Cricket and Sri Lanka Telecom Chief Thilanga
Sumathipala on December 8 Poya day has been referred to the Bribery
Commission by Chief Justice Sarath N Silva, legal sources said.
They said the
Chief Justice took this action after a group of lawyers handed over
a petition to him, asking him to probe the action of the additional
magistrate and the lawyers who appeared for Mr. Sumathipala.
The petition,
which was handed over a few days ago, called on the Chief Justice
to take appropriate action against the lawyers, Senior Criminal
Lawyer Daya Perera P.C. told The Sunday Times. |
