Airmen overall judo champions

Sri Lanka Air Force, emerged overall champions at the seventh annual Upali Sahabandu Memorial Trophy Judo Championship (2003) organized by the Central YMCA Colombo.

There was keen competition between the services and the Police SC.
Teams from the outstations - especially in the lower weights were keenly contested. Uva Wellassa Judo Club fared prominently which augurs well for the future of the sport.

Late Upali Sahabandu, who excelled in the sport did much for its development. A live wire of Police SC and promoted judo among the rank and file and helped the YMCA indoor sports.

Boys under 21 yrs. (25 kg): K.M. Laksman (Uva Wellassa Judo Club), W.A. Sameera (Uva Wellassa Judo Club), P.M. Palliyaguruge (CMC).

Boys under 21 yrs. (30 kg): Udesh Thilakarathne (Wimaladarma N. SC), K.M.S.S. Premakumara (Uva Wellassa Judo Club), W.G.G. Bandara (Wewathenna SC).
Boys under 21 yrs. (35 kg): Kasun Sanjaya (Gampola SC), K.D. Danushka Anuranga (Uva Wellassa Judo Club), Raditha Anjula (YMCA).

Boys under 21 yrs. (40 kg): D.M.K. Dissanayake (Wewathenna SC), M.M. Susitha Udayanga (Uva Wellassa Judo Club), P.J. Galliyadda (Gampola SC).
Boys under 21 yrs. (45 kg): H.L.C. Nadeeshan (CMC), A.R.M. Safraz (CMC), U.R.K. Basnayake (Army).

Boys under 21 yrs. (50 kg): G.S. Senawirathne (Jinaraja SC), A.A.N.P. Amarasinghe (Air Force), P.H.S.P. Kithsiri (Wewathenna SC).

Boys under 21 yrs. (55 kg): A.H.A.A.D. Athapaththu (Wewathenna SC), S.N.K. Rajasinghe (Air Force), S.A.A.D. Sahabandu (Sri Lanka Army).
Boys under 21 yrs. (60 kg): U.P. Uyanwaththa (Sri Lanka Air Force), S.N. Wijesinghe (Gampola SC), G.H. Chandana (Wewathenna SC).

Boys under 21 yrs. (66 kg): W.A.N.P. Kumara (Air Force), P.G.B.R. Gunarathna (Kurunegala SC), Harsha Prabath (National Youth Service Council).
Boys under 21 yrs. (73 kg): K.S.K. Hapuarachchi (Police), Kunchana Isuru (D.S. Sports Club), S.K. Wickremage (Anuradhapura SC).

Boys under 21 yrs. (81 kg): Gayan Senevirathne (Sri Lanka Self Defense Research Dojo), D.A.M. Hansapriya (Puttalam), H.S.C. Kumara (Wewathenna SC).
Over 81 kg: M.D.P.M. Wijemanne (Anuruddha SC), Malinda Pathmasiri (D.S. Sports Club), S.D.S. Pathirana Weerapuranappu SC).
