Ranatunga cracks 80 for Saracens
Saracens were struggling at 66 for 6 but President's College Rajagiriya
schoolboy right-hander Tharindu Ranatunga (80) runs with 14 fours
in 142 balls, in an entertaining 7th wicket stand of 87 runs with
S.Nikethana 40 (with 5 fours) helped them to total 228 in their
Division Two match against NCC on day one, at Maitland Place, yesterday.
NCC in reply were 103 for 4 at close.
NCC paceman
P.Chandrasekara (5 for 27), bowling with sustained accuracy in 16
overs caused the early Saracens debacle. The match is poised for
a close contest, when play begins today. For NCC A.Gallage 39 n.o.
(with 5 fours) kept the batting together.
