             This is the
story of Aparna’s life. She is an educated and talented beauty.
Her father is paralysed and her only brother is an ex-convict. When
Aparna gets a job at a garment factory everyone thinks it is a blessing.
She goes to work from home and gets a lift to town during night
              shifts.
             Aparna after
drawing her first salary travels by bus on the footboard.
The inevitable happens when she falls off the bus. Coincidentally
the bus owner’s son Nuwan is the driver. He is an educated
youth who is the heir to the Ramanayake business empire.
            Feeling sorry
for Aparna he visits her in hospital. Pretending to be “Piyadasa”
the driver he helps Aparna. Senaka and Christi disagree with Nuwan’s
behaviour yet he continues to see Aparna.
            Christi tries
to work out a damage claim and to get the driver interdicted. Yet
Aparna works to get the job back for the driver. Nuwan seeing Aparna’s
kindness cares for her. Their relationship is known to all at the
factory. Nuwan helps Aparna to prepare for an accountancy exam and
Aparna finds a boarding in town although her brother objects to
              this.
            Nuwan helps
her and their love affair prospers. Nuwan’s parents are seeking
to get him married. Nuwan goes abroad for further studies to escape.
The institution where Aparna works is closed and she gets a job
at Ramanayake industries. Ramanayake, Nuwan’s father is pleased
              with Aparna’s work.
            He gives an
alms giving on his son’s birthday and gets Aparna to help
              him.
She thinks of her lover Piyadasa while helping in this meritorious
              deed.
Nuwan uses his influence to get Senaka a job. Senaka is a storekeeper
now. He is to marry Janaki his sweet heart. He tells Aparna that
she too must marry according to her status. Senaka sells their house
and plans to live in town.
             Meanwhile Nuwan
returns. Aparna lives with her grand mother. Aparna has to go to
Ramanayake’s house and Purni, Ramanayake’s daughter
persuades her to stay for some time. Thinking Piyadasa has deceived
              her she leaves.
What happens when the parents get to know that Nuwan had been cheating
              them as well as Aparna?
