KET get ready for New Year
Kumara Ekanayake Trio popularly known as ‘KET’ will come alive at the Hotel Eden in Beruwela on this New Year’s Eve. KET , which consist of Kumara Ekanayake, his singing wife Stephany and Thushara, who plays guitar and key boards, is a popular trio, who is in the entertainment scene for the last 15 years.

“We have been busy for the past few months performing at dances, weddings and other gigs. The Planter’s Dance, DMCC Club Dance with the Gypsies are some of the top events to mention” Kumara said. KET performs at the Continental Hotel in Colomo on Wednesdays and Hotel Eden on every Friday on regular basis.

For our performances we use quality sound equipment and our repertoire of songs and music styles are extensive and diverse. We have carved our niche in the entertainment field throughout Sri Lanka, also our original songs are very popular in the music scene. The song of “Latha Latha” is popular among the fans. “ Kumara explained.

“With our wide repertoire which includes contemporary chart hits to the evergreens, cha cha, quicksteps, irresistible medleys of songs of yesteryear and bailas. But my personal choice is rock music. But some of the rock songs are bit difficult to play as a trio, but anyhow we manage to play some of popular rock songs especially for the fans at dances.” Kumara said.
