star Brian Adams coming?

Keep your fingers crossed, the news is that Brian Adams might just
be the one to rock Sri Lanka on the 10th of February. The event
is being organized by Showdiff Worldwide, an Indian company in strategic
partnership with Rediffusion DY & R. Officials from the speculated
venue for the gig CR & FC, state that negotiations were under
way, but declined to confirm the concert until the deal has been
finalized with the show's Indian organizers.
Showdiff
Worldwide is an India-based talent and development company promoted
by former Indian test cricketer Ravi Shastri. Bryan Adams Live in
Colombo will be its first international event.
Mr.
Jaiveer Singh Panwar, vice-president (marketing) of Showdiff Worldwide
when contacted by the Sunday Times in India said that the show is
set to go on stage on the 10th of February 2004 at the CR &
FC grounds.
Local
sponsors of the event are yet to be finalized, but Panwar assures
that ticket prices will be "reasonable and very affordable."
As to why Sri Lanka was chosen to stage this mega event, he said
that they felt that Lankans were inclined towards the Western music
industry, and that such a concert would be a boost to local music
enthusiasts.
Canadian
artiste Brian Adams has rocked the music charts for over a decade
with worldwide hits such as 'Summer of '69' and 'Have you ever loved
a woman' among others. The artiste's official website www.brianadams.com
reports the Colombo gig as part of his India/Gulf tour of 2004,
with 2 concerts scheduled for India on February 7 and 8, after which
he will head to Colombo.
Concerts
are also scheduled for the UAE, Qatar and Jordan from the 11th of
January onwards. Mr. Panwar told The Sunday Times that he will visit
Colombo on January 5 in order to finalize the deal. |
