Urumaya unveils manifesto on Tuesday
The election manifesto of the Jathika Hela Urumaya titled 'Paramitha
Charika' - for a righteous society - will be unveiled on Tuesday
at the Buddhist Convention to be held at the Dalada Maligawa. Buddhist
monks are to set off to Kandy in a motorcade after a special Puja
at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya.
Special
ceremonies have been organised to welcome the monks travelling in
the motorcade at Gampaha, Kegalle, Mawanella, and Peradeniya. A
puja will be held at 4.00 pm followed by the unveiling of the election
manifesto and thereafter the Buddhist Convention will commence at
4.30 pm.
All
the district candidates who would be contesting the election under
the Jathika Hela Urumaya will participate in the ceremonies. A member
for the Jathika Sangha Sammelanaya said some of the topics included
in the the manifesto are: Ensuring the country's integrity, protecting
the rights of the Sinhalese, an undivided Sri Lanka and safeguarding
our morals and our natural resources. |
