Air
Force offers fly-now-pay-later political rides
Political parties hiring Sri Lanka Air Force helicopters for election
campaigns are being offered a "fly-now-pay-later" scheme,
The Sunday Times learns.
This
came after Treasury Secretary Charitha Ratwatte issued a circular
that contesting parties must pay for the airfare and other facilities
of state institutions during the campaign.
However,
the SLAF has made an allowance by allowing any party to ride now
and make the payment later.
The
President and the Prime Minister are exempted as they are entitled
to the use of state transport by land, sea or air. |
