take women’s 7s trophy

In a rousing final defending champions Sri Lanka Army defeated Slimline
SC by 12 points( a goal and a try) to nil in the third annual inter-club
women's rugby rugby 'sevens' played at the Royal College Sports
Complex yesterday.
The
fitter Army girls playing robust rugby ran the ball at every given
opportunity to make gaping holes in their opponents defence. Slimline
countered well with some close tackling to thwart their opponents
from piling on.
Army
scored first through Priyani Lankara who made a 50 yard solo. Dilhani
converted the try for Army to go seven-up. The second Army was scored
by Niluka Sudharshini to complete their total of 12 points.D. Nimal
refereed the final. |
