Dreamy
whites and splash of colour
Presenting her bridal styles for the season at the Hair and Beauty
Fair is designer Purnima Abeyratne. In this fashion preview for
The Sunday Times, Purnima displays some of her latest creations.
A
romantic look it is, with dreamy dresses and sarees all in white
for the bride and a splash of colour for the going away and bridesmaids.
Bridal
dresses are heavily worked and soft, transparent, gauzy fabrics
predominate. Saree drapes have a touch of the Roman. Make-up should
look as subtle as possible, says Purnima, and hair styles differ
to suit the bride with both the upswept styles as well as flowing
ringlets still in vogue. And if you're looking for a touch of the
exotic, there's always feathers that are fast catching on, adds
Purnima. |
