clinches best boxer's award

The women boxers of the Army SC and Slimline SC came on top at the
finals of the 3rd Women Boxing Championship organized by the Sri
Lanka Amateur Boxing Association which was held at the Police Field
Force Boxing ring in Colombo yesterday.
Of
the six finals that were worked out yesterday Army SC had entered
all the six finals winning four of them while Slimline SC had two
boxers with both winning their category at the expense of the Army
ladies. Sivali MMV was the other team that had two of their boxers
in the finals but they lost to Army with the referee stopping the
contest in the first round. K.A.A.D. Kodituwakku of Slimline SC
was adjudged the best boxer while T.N. Shiromala of Police SC was
adjudged the best loser.

Light Weight Under 60kgs- P.K. Sumudu (Army SC) beat K.D.
Rathadari (Sivali MMV). Bantam Weight Under 54kgs- M.M.M. Susanthi
(Army SC) beat G. Champika (Sivali MMV). Light Bantam Weight Under
52kgs- R.A.N. Hemanthi (Army SC) beat H.T.P. Swarnapali (STPBC).
Fly Weight Under 50kgs- J.A.N.K. Jayasinghe (Slimline SC) beat S.D.N.S.
Karunaratne (Army SC). Light Fly Weight Under 48kgs- K.A.A.D. Kodituwakku
(Slimline SC) beat E.N.M.K. Ekanayake (Army SC). L.G. Chandrika
(Army SC) beat T.N. Shiromala (Police SC). |
