From drought to deluge
It fell on the Sri Lanka Air Force to persuade weather gods to bring rain to the drought stricken areas.

An SLAF helicopter took off from its base in Hingurakgoda early this week. From the skies, they began sprinkling pirith pan (pirith water) in the skies. Minutes later the chopper could not return to base. There was so much of rain.

The pilot was forced to make a detour and land in the SLAF base at Ampara. That was until the weather cleared and it was time to return to base.
