sideline Sampanthan
TULF leader R. Sampanthan has been sidelined from the Tamil National
Alliance's international campaign apparently on the instructions
of the LTTE following reports that he had failed to reflect the
LTTE's ideology.
Mr.
Sampanthan who earlier served on the TNA international propaganda
unit was dropped this week after TNA MPs met LTTE's Political wing
leader S.P. Thamilselvan.
Questions
about Mr. Sampanthan's viewpoint were raised by TNA MP S .Jeyananthamoorthy
who claimed that the TULF leader during speeches in the US had indicated
that the TNA's recognition of the LTTE as the sole representative
of the Tamil people applied mainly to its role at the negotiating
table. Mr. Sampanthan denied this interpretation, but the TNA member
had insisted that such a meaning had been given. |
