The
movie line up draws attention to multitudes of movies as a very
exciting and anticipated few will be listed in this analysis with
short introductions. From genres of comedy, thrillers to sci-fi
action.
Of
this the first to be released is the glamorous Vanity Fair. This
features the story behind the hit novel of William Makepeace Thackeray
of the same title. “Vanity Fair” captures the life of
Rebecca “Becky” Sharp (Reese Witherspoon), a young woman
who sets her every ambition on climbing the social ladder of London
society circa 1820. No penny to her name and merely the title of
governess, she relies on her sexual allure, guile and quick wit.
She does rise eventually to a Queen of High Society, though not
for long and without much of a purpose; only a soul wrenching cost.
Reese
Witherspoon, James Purefoy, Aileen Atkins, Jim Broadbent, Gabriel
Byrne, Romola Garai, Douglas Hodge, Bob Hoskins, Rhys Ifans, Natasha
Little, Geraldine McEwan, Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The director of
this movie is Mira Nair who is famous for her fiery and controversial
but beautiful art of movie making.
Also
in the line up is the sci fi action thriller in which Milla Jovovich
returns as Alice, one of only two survivors of the contained biochemical
disaster in the first “Resident Evil,” the $100 million
hit that serves as a prologue to the all-out action and horror of
“Resident Evil: Apocalypse”. The film begins where the
first film left off, with Alice in the heart of the ravaged and
deadly Raccoon City. She has been subjected to biogenetic experimentation
by the vast Umbrella Corporation and become genetically altered,
with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills,
and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive. Alice is
joined by Jill Valentine (Guillory), a recently demoted member of
Umbrella Corp?s elite Special Tactics and Rescue Services (S.T.A.R.S.),
Terri Morales (Holt), Carlos Oliviera (Fehr), L.J. (Epps), and Nicholai
(Ward) who must survive and escape what is quickly becoming a City
of the Dead. To reach their goal, they will need to battle their
way through the relentless onslaught of the ravenous undead, as
well as Umbrella forces and terrifying bioengineered weapons, the
most deadly of which is the colossal, heavily armed assassin, Nemesis.
Also
the line up features the special effect packed creation the Sky
Captain and the World of Tomorrow. The plot revolves on the disappearance
of Famous scientists around the world as Chronicle reporter Polly
Perkins (Paltrow) along with ace aviator Sky Captain (Law) is on
the investigation. Risking their lives as they travel to exotic
places around world, can the fearless duo stop Dr. Totenkopf, the
evil mastermind behind a plot to destroy the earth? Aided by Franky
Cook (Angelina Jolie), commander of an all-female amphibious squadron,
and technical genius Dex (Ribisi), Polly and Sky Captain may be
our planet’s last hope.
The
movie line up features a great creation on the life of the legendary
iconic revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara. Named after
Che’s famous Motorcycle Diaries, the new film from award-winning
director Walter Salles follows a journey of self-discovery, tracing
the origins of a revolutionary heart and unveiling the rich and
complex human and social topography of the Latin American continent.
In January 1952, Ernesto and Alberto set out on a road trip to discover
the real Latin America. Ernesto (Gael Garca Bernal) is a 23-year-old
medical student specializing in leprology, and Alberto (Rodrigo
de la Serna) is a 29-year-old biochemist. With a highly romantic
sense of adventure, the two friends leave their familiar Buenos
Aires surroundings on a rickety 1939 Norton 500.
Although
the bike breaks down in the course of their eight-month journey,
they press onward, hitching rides along the way. As they begin to
see a different Latin America in the people they meet on the road,
the diverse geography they encounter begins to reflect their own
shifting perspectives.
They
continue to the heights of Machu Picchu, where the majestic ruins
and the extraordinary significance of the Inca heritage have a profound
impact on the young men. As they arrive at a leper colony deep in
the Peruvian Amazon, the two are beginning to question the value
of progress as defined by economic systems that leave so many people
beyond reach. Their experiences at the colony awaken within them
the men they will later become by defining the ethical and political
journey that they will take in their lives.
Along
with the above movies others of interest include the psychological
thriller Cellular, Red Lights, the documentary drama on the footsteps
of Fahrenheit 9/11, The September tapes based on the Afghan War
and the comedy Dirty Shame. |
