BRC beat all odds when they grabbed first innings points
from SSC and took a step closer to the Premier league title yesterday.
Earlier
in the day SSC converted their overnight 168 for 8 wickets to 225
all out. Wicket keeper batsman Charith Sylvester who was dropped
for the earlier games after playing in only one Premier League game
proved his batting talents to compile an unbeaten 80 in the SSC
total of 225. Sylvester who faced 157 balls and hit seven boundaries
was involved in a 88 run stand for the 9th wicket with Dilhara Fernando
that helped SSC to pass the 200 run mark after all their big guns
failed to deliver.
