Schoolboy
Shannon (16/32) creates new record
In what could easily be a junior record in Sri Lanka Schools Cricket,
a schoolboy cricketer from St. Benedict's College finished with
match figures of 16 wickets for 32 runs in a under 12 tournament
game played at Kotahena recently.
The
magnificent bowling feat was performed by 12-year-old Shannon Patterson,
a left arm leg break bowler who is also the captain of the St. Benedict's
College team.
He
picked up seven wickets in the first innings (7/09) and a further
nine wickets (9/23) in the second innings against Maha Bodhi College
who were bowled out for just 25 runs and 45 runs respectively in
thefirst and second innings.. St. Benedict's who scored 194 for
5 declared eventually and won the game by an innings and 124 runs.
Incidentally there was a run out in each of the Maha Bodhi innings. |
