Aussie Jazz for New Year bash at MLH
‘Til’ Dawn’, one of Melbourne’s premiere Jazz duos, is now in action at the Mount Lavinia Hotel till December 23. ‘Til’ Dawn’ is made up of husband and wife team, Bryan and Dawn Patterson. With a combined musical history spanning over 30 years, Bryan and Dawn have done just about everything. In his early career, Bryan played with many high profile Australian and international artistes, including Neil Sedaka and David Soul from the hit show (Starsky & Hutch) and has performed on numerous shows on major metropolitan television and radio stations.

‘Til’ Dawn’ is specially flown in to Sri Lanka to perform at the Aussie food fiesta and the New Year Bash at the Terrace at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. Also prolific songwriter/composer with movie and television soundtracks to his credit, Bryan began to focus on his jazz roots when he joined forces with Dawn.

Dawn Patterson began singing at the age of 14 and has studied under well-known and highly respected jazz teacher, Joy Yates, as well as performing for many years in front of crowds from 20 to 3,000 at various events.

Her early years were spent touring around churches in Australia singing gospel as well as singing in her home church in Sydney, Australia, with a 2,000 strong congregation. Often compared to such luminaries as Peggy Lee and Julie London, Dawn’s sultry jazz/blues style is fused with romance and beauty and is a real crowd pleaser. ‘Til’ Dawn’ also has an extensive Christmas repertoire that brings a unique and beautiful spirit to the shows that they have performed over this season and sees them in high demand over the festive period.

As ‘Til’ Dawn’ has performed at jazz festivals, charity events and various jazz venues around Australia, as well as touring internationally, including a 4-week residency at the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa; The Colombo Plaza and Plaza and Raffles The Plaza in Singapore. They have completed recordings with legendary Australian band “Spectrum” and are due to release their debut album early in the New Year.
