Former
Aitken Spence chairman Michael Mack dead
Michael Mack, a former chairman of Aitken Spence & Company Ltd
and a well-known business leader, died of a brain tumour on January
22 at the age of 72.
Mack
had been ill for some time and had undergone brain surgery last
year. Mack had a long career with Aitken Spence, having worked there
for 42 years, the last four of which as the conglomerate's chairman
and managing director. He had also served as chairman of the Securities
and Exchange Commission and been a board member of the Board of
Investment.
Mack
had been on the boards of several companies, such as DFCC Bank,
Commercial Bank of Ceylon, CF Venture Fund, Lanka Aluminium Industries,
Lanka Galvanising Industries, Acme Printing & Packaging and
Comark Lanka. |
