Heavy
second string schedule in 2005
Sri Lanka will host a second string triangular series in March involving
England and Pakistan.
England
'A' will arrive on March 5, while the Pakistan team will arrive
on March 16. The England 'A' team play their opener a 4-day match
on March 7 vs. Sri Lanka 'A', at CCC grounds and on March 16 (Sunday)
play their second 4-day against Sri Lanka at the NCC grounds.
It's
a real test for the Lankans who will have to match their skills
against England 'A'. They will be a force to be reckoned with their
performances in recent times in the international test scene. England
under Michael Vaughan have impressed in the test arena, are placed
second in the test table.
Secretary
of SLC Lawrence Amarasena said besides the Triangular series which
will be played in March and April have invited the West Indies 'A'
South Africa too. The domestic international scene this year will
focus on local youth players who are given the opportunity to prove
their mettle.
The

Second March 13 -16 4-day vs. Sri Lanka NCC March 18 one-day practice
match Police Park. March one-day vs. Sri Lanka 'A8 NCC March. 23

Lanka 'A' - Colts CC March 27 - England 'A' Pakistan 'A' - Moratuwa.
One day final on March 29 SSC.
