- psycho relief for tsunami victims
The Western Province Department of Agriculture has launched agricultural
and psychologically-based strategies to mitigate mental and physical
drawbacks of tsunami victims.
In
a statement it said this course of action aims to facilitate the
processes of self development of different individuals to become
involved with agricultural activities for their long terms benefits.
The primary focus is placed on the coastal belt starting from Bentota
to the Negombo lagoon. This effort is not restricted to these areas
alone but also available to the needs of the province in specific
and the nation in general wherever appropriate.
Information
with regard to the above agro-psycho relief activities could be
obtained from the Deputy Provincial Directors of Agriculture (Extension)
Kalutara, Colombo and Gampaha, and from the Assistant Provincial
Directors of Agriculture (training) Horana, Homagama, Walpita and
Ambepussa. |
