Holiday Air - Lanka's first budget airline
Sri Lanka is also entering the fast growing no-frills budget airline industry with a new company, Holiday Air, set to take wing shortly.

The new airline is initiated by Arjun Ruzaik, a Sri Lankan-born, long-standing resident of Kenya who runs a successful radio station there. Industry sources said the airline has applied and is awaiting approval to fly to destinations in India and the Middle East from Colombo. Two planes are to be leased or purchased for Sri Lanka's first budget airline.

A media conference has been scheduled for February 27 by the promoters to introduce the airline.
