Clinton,
Bush here today
Two US ex-presidents George Bush Senior and Bill Clinton will arrive
in Sri Lanka this evening as part of the US effort to raise millions
of dollars for tsunami victims here and elsewhere.
The
two ex-presidents making their first visit to Sri Lanka will meet
President Chandrika Kumaratunga and other leaders before touring
tsunami-devastated areas in Matara. They began their tsunami tour
yesterday with a visit to a Thai village which had been wiped out
from the map but is being rebuilt now with a blend of tears and
hope. The two former presidents were appointed by the present President
George W. Bush to raise private funds for the tsunami victims. |
