‘Discovery’
is back 0n Rupavahini
Due to the popular demand of the viewers, the premier educational
TV programme Discovery has resumed its telecast on Rupavahini channel
from February 15.
The
Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) has made arrangements to
telecast Discovery programmes in a limited belt from 5.30 to 6.30pm
daily on weekdays and from 5 to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
The
programme was a novel experience for the TV viewers in Sri Lanka
and it was popular among the general public as well as the academics,
university lecturers and students. The programme was popular for
its documentaries on wildlife programmes, rare monuments, seabed,
space events and a variety of key historical incidents.
The
previous series of Discovery Programmes was wounded up with the
completion of its five- year agreement. A new feature of this time's
Discovery programmes would be that they would be either dubbed or
subtitled in Sinhala.
There
will be repeat telecast of the same programme on Channel EYE from
8pm to 9pm daily and from 9.30pm to 10pm on Saturday. To coincide
with the Discovery telecast Rupavahini will also start a quiz programme
with valuable gifts and awards to the winners. |
