Gamini Fonseka Foundation launched
The Gamini Fonseka Foundation was launched at the Trans Asia Hotel last week, in a bid to carry forward the vision of the late film legend Gamini Fonseka.

Sir Arthur C. Clarke, Dr. Lester James Peries and Mrs. Sumithra Fonseka will be the patrons of the foundation while the board of trustees headed by Dammith Fonseka will also include Ravindra Randeniya, Malani Fonseka, Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne, Jayantha Dharmadasa and Sunil Fonseka.

The motive of this foundation is to establish a fully-fledged academy to fulfill the vision of the late Gamini Fonseka to take the Sinhala cinema industry on par with world cinema.

The foundation is seeking government support to obtain a suitable place to build the academy, which will have comprehensive programmes to carry forward Mr. Fonseka’s vision.
