‘Revelation’ dazzled
The band ‘Revelation’ is a popular outfit in the Lankan music scene.‘We want to be one of the most talked about bands in town’ said the leader Shean Dharmaratne.

The music of ‘Revelation’ keeps clubbers and their devoted fans satisfied on each performance. Revelation is managed by the energetic front man Shean Dharmaratne.

Shean was involved in fundraising activities for Tsunami victims since December 26 last year and they were last seen performing at the “One Trust” concert .

“I think it was a very good concert, well organized only not received well by the public” said Shean , commenting on the show. ‘people are now reluctant to come for fundraisers in the mentality that they have already done their share, it’s a bit sad not only the people didn’t turn up, also that they missed a spectacular gathering of bands and artistes, also a great show for a very reasonable prize.

Shean has also written and composed a song for fundraising titled “within your heart” (Rise). He said that it was written in a day and rushed for production to meet a deadline for the compilation done by “YES FM”. The song is included in the CD “HEAL SRI LANKA”.

Shean pointed out, how the musicians too got affected by the disaster.‘Number of bands and singers that played in the “Down South” circuit are out of work now. Who will look after the’ he asked.

And he said it’s a pity there’s no organization to maintain the welfare or the standards of western music in Sri Lanka.‘We are lucky to be in Colombo and work continuously. But I really feel for my fellow musicians, who got affected directly and indirectly’

Shean is in the process of forming a private company to promote Sri Lankan Talent world wide. “This has been my dream for so many years. I will represent local talent and promote them to International record labels.”

Shean believes there is many a Billboard chart topping talent in the island. Revelation is now in action at the “Checkers” on Thursdays and “Rhythm & Blues” on Saturdays.

The current line up of the band is- Zion on lead guitar, Diren on Drums, Saman on bass and support vocals, Kanchana on keyboards, Sherry on vocals and of course Shean on front line singing.
