‘Desmond
and The Clan’ returns with a bang
‘The Return of Desmond and The Clan’, long awaited concert
of the year, will come alive tonight (October 23) at BMICH at 6.30pm.
The concert ‘The Return of Desmond and The Clan’ will
be staged again at the same time on October 30 at Water's Edge.
The
original line - up of the Clan are now ready to take the audience
back to 70’s era. The Clan comprises Desmond de Silva, Chuty
Padmaperuma on keyboards and pan flute, Narendra Padmaperuma on
lead guitar, Tony Fernando on bass and Susanth on keyboards and
sax.
The
Clan is less one member- Harris Jurangpathy, could not make to the
concert due to weak health conditions. Also there will be a five
piece brass section and two percusionists. The four member back-up
vocals will be led by Rukshan Perera.
The
boys were very much in demand during that period and Desmond and
The Clan are referred to as the show-band of the 70's. Showmanship
belonged exclusively and still does belong to the versatile Desmond
de Silva who is domiciled in London, England. The talented members
of the band, other than Chuty, the rest are living in various parts
of the globe.
Twenty
five years have lapsed since any eye has witnessed the magnificent
showbiz acumen of Desmond and The Clan. The Clan surrounding him
again with rhythm and beat, harmony and tempo. ‘The Return
