will shortly commence an Msc in Disaster Management.

Institute Prof. Kapila Dahanayake said.
The university has already signed MoUs with ITC of Netherlands and
the Asia Disaster Prevention Centre based in Thailand to get both
technical and financial assistance for the course.
Emergency Management –Australia as well as the Hawaii Disaster
Management Centre have pledged to provide personnel resources for
the conduct of the course, he said.
These
countries have also agreed to offer the best students six months
training in their countries on disaster management where they would
have access to their training facilities, he added.
“We need the best people for this programme. We don’t
have enough people to carry out disaster preparedness programmes,”
he said. Those interested in following the course can get details
on tel. nos. 081-2387218 and 081-2389027.
