Mother and son steal the limelight

Romesh Abhayaratne emerged the overall winner with 34 points over Sanjaya Wickremanayake (33 points) in a close contest at the Suntel AmCham 6th annual Charity Stableford Golf Tournament held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club yesterday. Mrs. Yvonne Abhayaratne was the ladies winner with a better back nine.

This year’s tournament had 150 competitors.
This year’s proceeds will go to help the inmates of the Cancer Hospital, Maharagama.

Overall winner men (Gross score): Winner – Romesh Abhayaratne 34, Runner-up – Sanjeewa Wickremanayake 33.

Overall winner ladies (Gross Scores):Mrs. Y. Abhayaratne - 23 B/B9; runner-up: Mrs. H.R. Bang 23.

AmCham Member (Gross Score): Winner –Anil Hirdramani 23; Runner-up – Kumar Mirchand 20.
