Construction
chamber welcomes Mahinda
The Chamber of Construction Industry last week joined a host of
other chambers in welcoming new President Mahinda Rajapakse and
expressed its fullest co-operation in implementing construction
related projects in the “Mahinda Chintanaya”.
Chamber
President Surath Wickremasinghe, referring to the growth rate of
8% mentioned in the manifesto, said the chamber has been persistently
promoting Physical Infrastructure Projects coupled with its corresponding
plans for development.
He
said they were fully supportive of Rajapakse’s proposals not
only for urban areas but also the regions. “This way it is
possible to optimize the economic potential of the different regions
in agriculture, fisheries, livestock, tourism, industries and so
on, based on an integrated development plan,” Wickremasinghe
said.
