JHUsupport
for Govt. from outside
By Santhush Fernando
The JHU said it will continue to be an independent entity without
being a part of the UPFA government and will continue to sit in
the opposition.
The
JHU Central Committee decided last week that a party office bearer
would have to give up his membership before accepting any post in
the Government, The Sunday Times learns.
This
decision was taken after JHU senior treasurer H. M. G. B. Kotakadeniya
was offered the post of Additional Secretary of the Defence Ministry
by President Mahinda Rajapakse.
The
party is to reorganise and prepare itself starting from grass-roots
level for the upcoming local government elections due in April next
year and even for a possible general election if Parliament is dissolved,
JHU sources told The Sunday Times.
