Marians go unplugged
The popular band the MARIANS are out to give the Sri Lankan pop music -loving public a rare treat, when they take the stage on January 14 at the BMICH at 7.00pm. for an Unplugged Concert. MARIANS led by versatile Nalin Perera is a singer and a musician with seventeen years of hands on experience.

Nalin entered musical arena as member of the band of his alma mater St Mary's College, Chilaw and had the distinction in releasing the first album of MARIANS in 1990, which took the local music seen by storm.

With that unprecedented demand since then there has been no looking back, but a determined advancement accepted and rated as one of the most popular bands in Sri Lanka.

The success of Marians is due to intensity, enthusiasm and keeness with which the boys perused the advancement of their musical knowledge and training

The Marians have just come out with their latest new album 'Ahata Cool' after a lapse of four years, which was released under Torana Music label. The pattern of music in their new album is to meet the demands of their numerous fans.

Their new album should prove a fit successor an indication of their versatility.
CD comprises 15 new songs penned by Hemasiri Halpita, Nilantha Perera, Kelum Srimal, Chanaka Jayasekera, Ranjith Warnakula and Nalin himself.

'Ahata Kanata', Sundarai Ahinsakai', 'Am,ritha', 'Api Nogiya Thenak Ne', 'Oya Hedakam', 'Mage Nandamme', 'Jayamangala', 'Vinodayen', 'Mamma Ho'. 'Balaporoththuwa' are some of the top song in the album.

Fresh after an overseas tour the Marians are certain to give a memorable concert for pop music fans. The January concert would be an unplugged one with a mixed variety of Sinhala, English, Hindi and Tamil Music - Sanath
