with ‘Super Chimes’ at the ‘Harbour Room’
Harbour Room of Grand Oriental Hotel will come alive on New Year's
Eve this December with a gala Dinner Dance featuring Annesley &
Super Chimes.
Overlooking the Colombo harbour, Harbour Room will be treat for
guests. It would be a beautiful sight to see thefireworks display
and the wonderful lighting of the ships anchored in the Harbour
on this night.
Annesley
Malawana who has been in the music industry for over threedecades,
formed his band ‘Annesley & Super Chimes’ last year
and within a very short spell of time, the music of the Super Chimes
have brought back memories of the fabulous Moonstones and Super
Golden Chimes. ‘The Super Chimes is in great demand this season
playing for many Shows, weddings, dances and corporate functions.
Super Chimes could cater to both Western and Oriental audiences
and we specialize in music of the 60s, 70s and 80s.’ said
Annesley.
Former
leader of the band Simple, Mahesh Silva handles the keyboards for
Super Chimes. Veteran bassist Amal Silva handles English vocals
apart from his bass. He sings from ballards to uptempo songs of
the 60s', and 70s. The drummer boy Jagath Kulasinghe could sing
anything from a Sinhala Classic to the hit songs of the 60's and
70's and Hindi hit songs in addition to harmonizing.
Channa
Athalage who is an ardent fan of Dixon Guneratne, handles the lead
guitar with ease. Dimantha Seneviratne plays keyboard too. Annesley,
the leader of the band sings all hits of Moonstones and Super Golden
Chimes.
‘This

and 80s and especially the expats who will be in Sri Lanka during
the Festive Season to dance and herald in the new year 2006 in traditional
way of the 70’s’ said Annesley.
