Selectors
to get partial extension

The four incumbent national cricket selectors – Lalith Kaluperuma
(Chairman), Don Anurasiri, Shabir Asgerally and K.M. Nelson will
be granted a partial extension enabling them select the Sri Lanka
One-Day contingent to England.
This
was revealed by the President of Sri Lanka Cricket Jayantha Dharmadasa.
The official appointments of the four selectors were to end on 30th
April, but according to the SLC president he is scheduled to make
a request to the Minister of Sports Jeewan Kumaratunge to give sufficient
time to do the ODI selection for the tour of England which is in
progress now.

Dharmadasa also revealed in spite of the tenure of the selectors
scheduled to terminate at the end of this month, he still has not
received an invitation from the Minister of Sports to forward an
alternate set of names to replace the incumbent lot.
