Three injured
in Jaffna shooting
Three civilians, two of them in critical condition,
were admitted to the Jaffna hospital last night after they were
injured in a shooting incident in Allaipiddy, hospital sources said.
The incident is said to have taken place around
8.45 p.m. following an attack on the Navy in the area.
The Kayts police confirmed the incident but said
they could not visit the area due to security reasons.
Navy spokesman D.K.P. Dassanayake said he could
only confirm that Navy personnel in the area came under attack last
night.
Meanwhile, the pro-LTTE Tamilnet reported that
six people were killed in the incident.
