ACL Cables launches new
strategy
ACL Cables Ltd, pioneers in the cable industry
in Sri Lanka, has launched a new marketing communications strategy
aimed at increasing its 45 percent stake in the cable industry and
not dropping from this position.
Managing Director of ACL Cables Ltd, Suren Madanayake said the launch
heralds a new transformation for the company that includes a more
focused and dynamic marketing strategy and a stratified vision to
take the company to greater heights. The revamp of the ACL Cables
logo further represents the company’s three-pronged aim of
excellence in quality, modern technology and trustworthiness.
ACL Cables Ltd had its beginnings in 1962 when the company, backed
by Japanese technology, set up business with the aim of providing
a range of products that were the first of its kind in Sri Lanka.
The company has made remarkable strides in the past 44 years as
the pioneer in the cable industry and in the manufacture and distribution
of low-voltage power cables, including armoured underground cables,
aerial bundled cables and conductors. It also has the distinction
of being the leaders for low voltage XLPE insulated Aerial Bundled
cables in South and South East Asia.
ACL Cables also has an 80 percent market share in the supply of
high-end cables to BOI approved projects. With a network of 3500
dealers island wide the company ensures 24-hour service in the maintenance
and sales of the products at all island wide retail outlets.
Speaking at a ceremony to launch the new strategy, Mr Madanayake
said the plans for the future include an investment of Rs 250 million
in a project that will come on stream by August this year. He added
that partners of ACL Cables Ltd, namely Clipsal – are in the
process of setting up a state-of-the-art factory in Sri Lanka for
the manufacture of Clipsal range of products for both the local
and export market. Schneider of France, owners of Clipsal brand,
intends to invest Rs 800 million over the next three to four years
in this connection.
