Bad light
stops play in both games

Moratuwa SC were 32 for 1 in reply to Army SC’s score of 184
at the end of the first days play in their Sara Trophy semi final
encounter played at the Colts grounds. The match was called off
early due to bad light and only 65 overs of play were possible for
the day.
The two semi finals which was due to be played on January 20 and
21 were postponed due to a case pending in the courts after the
SLC cricket committee ruled the match between Negombo CC and Raddoluwa
CC null and void which was reversed and the SLC deciding to conduct
the semi finals.

The other semi final match between Negambo CC and Kalutara TC played
at the Police grounds too saw an early finish due to bad light.
Negombo CC taking first lease of the wicket scored 228 and Kalutara
TC in their turn were one for no loss.

HNB crush John Keells
HNB crushed John Keells by 110 runs in their Singer MCA Premier
League encounter concluded at NCC grounds yesterday. With rain affecting
the match midway John Keells chasing a reduced victory target of
182 in 40 overs were able to muster.
Earlier in the day an unbeaten 69 by Russel Arnold saw HNB making
a modest 200 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs. HNB 200 for 9 in
