My favourite game
These days cricket has become a very popular game.
Long ago English people used to play this game as a leisure time
activity. Those days cricket was not played with proper rules. But
now the International Cricket Council has established new rules,
for this game.
Why do I like cricket? There are many reasons. This game creates
curiosity. I watch especially when Sri Lanka plays. Though English
people started this, our Sri Lankans in this small Island have become
the champions now. In 1996, we won the Cricket World Cup beating
the Australians. This game can create team spirit and friendship
among the nations.
My favorite cricketer is Kumar Sangakkkara. Our Sri Lankan cricketer
Murali's ‘Dhusra’ spin is really amazing. I collect
photos and paper cuttings of them. If I get a chance, I like to
join the Sri Lankan team and bring glory to my small Island.

Let us say Thank You for the Earth
The earth is given to us
To live on
We can make buildings
on this earth
We can run on
this earth, or
We can walk,
Jump, skip etc
on this earth
Why cannot we
say thank you
for this earth
Why are we
not thanking
the earth
for all these
things we can
do on this earth
So now let us
say thank you
for the earth
for without the earth
we cannot make
buildings for
our shelter
from the weather
or be saved
from the harmful animals
So let us say
Thank you and be happy

My hobby
My
favourite hobby is flower gardening. I have a beautiful flower garden
in my house. Flowers are one of the most beautiful things that grow
in many colours like red, blue, orange, pink, purple and white.
I grow sunflower, rose, jasmine, tulip and many more. Most flowers
have a sweet smell, I like the smell of rose and jasmine very much.
I sometimes wear jasmine on my hair. I love to smell them and touch
their soft petals. I water the plants every morning and evening.

Petals
Petals
are a wonderful creation of God. They give beauty to a flower. They
attract insects. Petals are in different shapes and sizes. Every
flower has petals. Some flowers have only few petals. Petals are
in different colours too. All children love to feel the softness
of petals. Oh! I think petals are the most loveliest part of a flower.

Our teeth
Teeth are like a hard bone structure placed in
the socket of the jaws. Man is born without teeth. There are two
sets of human teeth, they are, milk teeth and permanent teeth. At
the age of two and a half to three years, the child will have milk
teeth fall and the permanent teeth will replace them. An adult has
32 teeth. There are four types of teeth that can be seen in a human
mouth.
They are: incisors (for biting), canines (for tearing), premolars
(for chewing) and molars (for grinding). The incisors have a sharp
edge like blade, canines are pointed ones, molars and premolars
are flat teeth. When we think of our teeth it is a kind of miracle.
