Conference on securitization
A one-day conference entitled Securitisation: Unlocking
Potential will be held tomorrow at the Colombo Hilton aimed at providing
an insight into the regulatory, legal, tax and accounting issues
relevant to the securitisation market in Sri Lanka.
It will also highlight how regulators, issuers,
investment bankers and rating agencies as well as other intermediaries
- such as lawyers and accountants - can work to unlock the potential
of this market.
Jointly organised by Rating Agency Malaysia and
Lanka Rating Agency Limited, this conference - targeted at CEOs,
market practitioners, financial advisers, bankers, trustees, investors
and regulators - will be opened by Channa de Silva, Director General
of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka who will
deliver a keynote address on Regulatory Developments in Securitisation
in Sri Lanka.
International experts from Australia and Malaysia,
besides local experts from the securitisation arena will be making
presentations.
These specialists will share with domestic market
participants their experience and expertise on how best to tap the
potential in Sri Lanka.
In particular, Kerry Adby, a leading specialist
in the field of securitisation, will be at hand to share her experience
on the issues and challenges that lie ahead for the Sri Lankan securitisation
market.
Adby has more than 15 years’ experience
in securitisation, structuring and implementing transactions involving
an extensive range of assets and instruments, not to mention hands-on
knowledge of the Sri Lankan market.
