UAL chief to speak at
Hong Kong conference
Marina Tharmaratnam, the Chief
Executive Officer at UAL has been invited to speaker at the LIMRA/LOMA
14th Annual Strategic Issues Conference that starts today and runs
until Tuesday in Hong Kong.
The 2006 Strategic Issues
Conference will be an opportunity for CEOs of Asian Life insurance
companies to share their experiences and best practices adopted
by them.
CEOs from insurance companies
in China, India, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Vietnam will cover
topics ranging from HSBCs proactive regional bancassurance strategy,
to Hong Kong’s distribution trends, to experiences of outsourcing
in Singapore.
It also included how a life insurance company in
Vietnam continued with its sales growth targets and maintained normal
surrender rates for its unit-linked products despite there being
severe market volatility with the mutual fund industry, losing 40
percent of its assets.
Ms. Tharmaratnam will be sharing
her experience on “How to make money in markets facing political,
economic and/or environmental challenges”.
