Biz promotion in Japan

The Sri Lanka-Japan Business Co-operation Committee (SLJBCC), of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce just concluded a successful business promotion mission to Japan from May 28 to June 3, 2006 having visited Tokyo and Osaka.

The events included the 14th Joint Meeting of the Sri Lanka-Japan and Japan–Sri Lanka Business Co-operation Committees followed by business promotion seminars both in Tokyo and Osaka.

Over 150 Japanese delegates participated while the one in Osaka saw more than 85 business delegates.

Japanese delegates were of the view that Sri Lanka could be a production base for exports to India and Pakistan, taking full advantage of the duty free concessions offered under the Free Trade Agreements.
