EU condemns
violent terrorist bombings
The European Union condemned recent acts of violence
in Sri Lanka including the bombing of a bus in Kebethigollawa.
The EU in a statement referred to the incident
as an, “abhorrent act of violence, which marks the bloodiest
attack on civilians since the signing of the Ceasefire Agreement
in 2002, and is another clear violation of that Agreement.”
It also called upon all parties to return to the
negotiating table with a view to strengthening the immediate ceasefire,
and work towards a durable political solution so as to relieve the
Sri Lankan people from a twenty year conflict.
